Good dose of rain! :)
Tuesday, 07 October 2008 05:08
Hey WTVQ viewers!   Get ready for a good dose of rain overnight tonight and during the day on Wednesday.  Here's whats going on...we have a frontal boundary to our west that's interacting with some Gulf moisture and creating some heavy rain as well are some strong storms.  As this boundary pushes eastward overnight, expect all the severe storms to stay to our south but we'll get our fair share of heavy rain.  Expect rainfall acumulations from overnight through Thursday morning to total about 1-2 inches.  After the frontal boundary moves through on Wednesday night and Thursday morning expect things to dry out and warm up for the weekend.

Potential for widespread soaking rain mid-week

A storm over the Plains will move into the Ohio Valley by mid-week bringing with it, widespread and very welcome - rain. The entire eastern third of the country will see some rain this week with the heaviest falling over the south. All of Kentucky is expecting at least half an inch of rain...with over one inch possible over the western half of the state. This will provide some temporary relief to areas in severe drought. A strong high pressure will build in the wake of this storm over the weekend, renewing the warm dry weather pattern so familiar to our region lately.

Forecast rainfall amounts through Thursday evening.
