Wow. In a country and state where there is real crime our tax dollars are going to be used to lock up a woman that wears shorts to court, has pills, and snorts cocaine? Sure, she may not be the next Garrard County but I don't think she'll be hurting society much partying in her trailer really....lol - Tim

I think the judge dosn't like girls, but thats just my opinion. If it can be worn on the street it should be allowed in the court room. Is there a dress code for court? I thought people dress up to look impressive to the judge for what-ever reason, hoping to get a break for the reason their there. I think if our courts want us to impress them, they should try to impress us. - Ricci

Don't people know there's an unspoken dress code for going to court?? Especially when the judge already told you so.
You don't go in front of judges wearing whatever you want to, you should look decent and presentable. It has to do with respect.
Obviously, Ms. Arnold doesn't have any respect for anything.
If you don't get into trouble, you don't have to worry about being in front of judges.
The short shorts are the least of her problems now.
How smart is someone who goes to court disregarding what the judge already told her and HAVING DRUGS in her purse??
Quit breaking the law and you won't have these problems and for goodness sake, don't take drugs, weapons or anything else into court that you know you have and will get you in trouble!
The question is, will she learn from this experience?? - Shari

Kudos to the judge. If the girl works to support herself, I think it may be going overboard to spend more than one nite in jail on a first offense...then again, he DID warn her before. I think the things some people show up in court wearing shows a complete lack of respect for the court system. I wish our judges in my county would act more on a dress code. I don't think there is even a sign posted of the do's and don't's. - Caroline Cox

That judge is a jerk...such a stupid thing to arrest someone over. It's the 21st century for crying out loud, stop being so shallow. It's not like she showed up naked.

I'll admit getting caught with drugs in her purse doesn't really make her look good, but arresting her for that at least makes some sense. - John H.

I went by the courthouse in Garrad county when court let out one day. I never saw so many shortshorts and bellytops in all my life. Most had a cigarette in their mouth as soon as they stepped across the threshold. Bic lighter shot up a six inch flame. They need to show some respect. If not for themselves for everyone else. - gwen

What gives this judge the legal right to jail someone because he doesn't like the way that they dress? If no laws were broken, then maybe he's forgotten that he is an employee of the taxpayers and not the other way around. - vic

maybe people will start to learn you don't have to dress like a street walker all the time. There are times to try to dress modestly, court being one of those times. - go judge

I agree with the judge. When you go to court you should dress in a resonable way. Court is a place for being serious, not for dressing like the pool. - mary

I am amazed at how men and women have become so lazy in their mode of dress. When a person goes to a job interview, funeral, wedding and even a court appearance they should be wearing appropriate clothing. Beach, vacation, concert and club/bar attire are not appropriate in these venues. What has happened to our country that men and women feel that they can wear shorts, tank tops, torn jeans and just plain reveiling clothing to these types of functions and be taken seriously. I guess Ms. Arnold has set her goal in life to be a frequent visitor to court. If she is tried and sentenced to prison for the drugs she allegedly had in her purse she will be wearing "appropriate clothing". Prison attire is not "Cute". Ladies I hope that none of you are stupid enough to be doing anything that would place you in front of a judge. But if you do, please be grown up enough to wear clothing that is not revealing. This is just insulting to the court. I praise the judge in this case for doing what she did. More people need to request that appropriate clothing be worn to work, court, etc. This is not being meant to be mean, people need to take more pride in themselves. - rvb

Well, just as long as she wears the jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt, I guess it's okay for her to have the cocaine and pills in her purse. DUH! - dgibson
