I think nearly every woman has one. A stash of old, nearly empty, or just plain ugly nail polish bottles that you know you are never going to use again. You might think of tossing them in the trash. But wait..doing so is bad for the environment and you can actually trade your old polish for some new fab ones!

Nail polish wonders Zoya have the coolest program called Nail Polish exchange. Here’s how it works: you send in six or more bottles of polish you no longer want (any brand other than Zoya..Qtica..or Nocti) and they will send you brand new awesome Zoya polishes (in any color you want) in exchange.

You pay $3.50 per bottle to cover shipping and processing. So, you are turning in your useless, unwanted nail polishes..for some super wonderful Zoya ones. The program runs until June 30th.

Zoya recently released their Flash and Sparkle sampler sets. I cannot stop obsessing about these beautiful colors. Right now, I am wearing Jolene on my nails. It is such a pretty candy pink color!

I am thinking about painting my toes in Mimi..a sparkly purple. I love the mix of bright cheery colors in the Flash collection and bold, fun, sparkly ones in the Sparkle collection.

I am also love-love-loving the Zoya Color Lock System. It has pretty much everything you could ever need to do the perfect mani/pedi-minus the polish. I love Zoya’s Remove which is not only a polish remover, but it also cleans and preps nails for polish.

I’m pretty picky about what products I use to clean my face. I don’t like any products with harsh exfoliators or strong smells.

I have pretty sensitive skin so I have to be careful when choosing soaps or gels to clean my face. I was recently introduced to Wonderbar-a bar soap touting multiple benefits for your skin.

I must admit, I was a little wary of this product at first. I haven’t used bar soap of any kind since I was a child because I like my cleansers to have a lot of foam and give my face a “clean” feel.

I had heard so many good things about Wonderbar, I knew I had to give it a chance. I was glad I did. By adding a little water, it didn’t take long to create a nice foam to cover my entire face. My face felt crisp and clean after using the bar.

The Wonderbar is so much more than just a cleanser. It’s an all-in-one skin care product. It tones, cleanses, and exfoliates. It tightens and minimizes facial pores, reduces redness, moisturizes, and gives your skin a glow. You can even use it as a shampoo and shave gel!

You can buy this little gem here. Each bar should last between six and eight weeks. You can choose to buy one bar or a set of bars.

I’ve been using Wonderbar for about a week and my skin already feels and looks better. I can’t wait to see what results I will have after using it for a longer period of time.

In the past few years, I have heard the site  makeupalley.com mentioned on many other sites and forums. Everyone seemed to really love the site but for some reason, I never got around to checking it out.That was a mistake. About two weeks ago, I finally decided to check it out. Wow..I have really been missing out. What is so great about it?

Well..first off, you can find very helpful reviews on virtually any beauty or health product on the market. The reviews really helped me out on choosing a new face wash. I checked out several face washes online then went to makeupalley to check out the reviews. The end result: a face wash I love more than any I have ever tried!

The other feature of the site that I am totally obsessed with is the swap forum. How many times have you tried a shampoo or a nail polish once only to discover..it just isn’t for you? You would not believe the amount of beauty products I have at home that just weren’t what I had hoped they’d be. I had no idea what to do with them and ended up throwing many of them away. Not anymore. You can actually trade those items..or brand new items..and even books..cd..and clothing..with people all across the world. I have already done one successful “swap” with a woman in New York. I was incredibly pleased by what she sent me. I am in the process of swapping with a woman in Iowa.

 After each swap, you are rated by your partner. You can get a good idea of how trustworthy a potential swap partner will be based on those ratings.

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg for this site. I have been so caught up with the swap and review parts of the site, I haven’t checked out the forums or anything else.

So, lately, all I can think about is nail polish. I just can’t get enough of it and I think it is the perfect accessory!

Nail polish is super hot this season! Did you know that nail polish sales are on the rise? They’ve gone up more than 14% in the last year alone!

I have heard so many good things about the nail polish brand, Deborah Lippmann. I was so excited to try the colors for myself.

I tried three fabulous colors: Pop Life, Brown Eyed Girl, and Happy Birthday.

I adore the color of Pop Life because it is a bright, cheery pink. I am definitely a “pink” girl and just looking at this pink creme color, makes me smile. The color looks awesome on and it is really holding up well!

Brown Eyed Girl is such a unique color. I love the fact that it has a beautiful opaque shimmer. It is described as a chocolate brown color but to me it almost has a deep red tint in certain lights. I think this color looks beautiful with black or silver sandals and a darker toned outfit.

I could not resist trying out the uber fun Happy Birthday! Who doesn’t want to wear rainbow colored glitter on their fingers and toes? This polish is not only fun, it has staying power. Don’t you just hate it when you buy a glitter polish and in reality you are getting a clear polish with just a few flecks of glitter? Well, that is certainly NOT the case with Happy Birthday. It is literally rainbow glitter overload and I love every last drop of it. This is a fun weekend color for me and a great shade to wear to parties and special functions.

I am super impressed with Deborah Lippman nail polish and there are sooooo many more colors I feel like I have to have from her site. Seriously, every color is cool!

What’s the quickest way to spruce up a bland outfit…a statement necklace! A statement necklace is a big..and I’m talking BIG…necklace that is incredibly popular this season!

I have seen many celebrities wearing them and some of them..I think look great! I have also seen some of the necklaces look a bit overpowering on some women.

I think a statement necklace can be a great addition to your spring/summer wardrobe. I have yet to purchase one of these necklaces myself. Why, you ask? Well, I haven’t found one I really really liked yet. I am thinking for me, they might work better on days I am not working. I think the oversized necklaces can be a bit overpowering if you are anchoring a show. You want viewers to listen to what you are saying..not be entranced by your huge necklace. I am also a little concerned that these are a temporary fad and no one will wear them next year.

I have always been a big fan of scarves…BUT..only in the winter. I think they look nice but I also love the fact they are practical and keep me warm.

I have never had a problem with people wearing scarves year round..I just have never done it myself.

But, I think that is about to change, soon! Scarves are very in style this season and the more I see people wearing lightweight scarves..the more I want to wear them myself.

I am amazed by all the different ways to wear a scarf and the fact that a beautiful scarf can make a bland outfit really pop!

I love love love this scarf Hilary Duff is wearing. It is from the store Madewell. Sadly, we don’t have one anywhere near Kentucky and it appears you can’t order online..but you can call them and order.

Just think how plain and ordinary this outfit would be, if Hilary wasn’t wearing this scarf.

This is the picture that finally made me decide..I have to have a spring/summer scarf.

Now..I just need to determine what print I want and where to get one.

Hilary is a big fan of scarves and has really been a forerunner in setting the trend among celebrities.

When I heard Sephora had developed an exclusive line of Tokidoki makeup and accessories, I was elated! You might remember the Smashbox Cosmetics/Tokidoki collab a few years ago. I thought this line was super cute but the NEW Tokidoki/Sephora line is even better!

I am a sucker for extra cute packaging and I just don’t think it is possible to find makeup that is cuter than this!

There are a multitude of Tokidoki goodies for your pleasure at Sephora. Everything from makeup brushes to mascara and makeup bags.

 The first item I tried was an eyeshadow palette. I have been using the Cromatico Eyeshadow Palette in Diamante.  ($25) This is a nice purple palette with a really awesome white glitter color that I love putting on top of the purples.

The palette comes with an eyeshadow applicator and an adorable charm that you can attach to the palette itself. This palette is one of three deisgns and color combos.

I HAD to try the uber cute gloss. Not only did I love the super cute bottle, I also love the idea that the gloss is flavored. I have the Prisma Gloss in Arlecchino which is an awesome fuschia color. ($15)  Better yet..it smells and tastes like strawberries! Yum! Plus, the applicator is really innovative. It is a clear plastic wand..no sponge. It is hard to describe but it is very very cool and goes on smooth!

I also tried out the Fantistico Lip Ink  ($15) which looks like a really color marker. The color actually is very subtle and I love the feel of the velvet tip applicator. This makes for a nice-in between gloss and lipstick look.

To be honest, I would like to buy every single piece of the Tokidoki line at Sephora if I could afford it! If you want to buy any of it…I suggest you head to Sephora soon in Fayette Mall or go to Sephora online before it is all gone. These are all limited edition items and are very very popular so I don’t expect them to stick around long!

Oh and one more thing…while typing this blog entry I realized I HAD to have one of the makeup bags..so a Tokidoki Perfetta Cosmetic Pouch will be arriving at my door soon.

It’s finally Spring and finally warm outside. The warmer weather has made me break out all of my pretty pastel nail polishes to paint my fingers and toes.

I was hoping to get some color inspirations from looking at pics online of celebrities. I wanted to see what shades of pink, purple, and red they were using on their nails.

After looking through several pics, I was a bit confused. I didn’t see any pink, purple, or red. I saw another color. A color I would never have DREAMED of painting my nails.

It was grey! The more pics I looked at, the more celebrities I saw sporting the subtle color.

After doing some research, I found the correct name for this color is greige and I also soon realized..I loved the way it looked and had to try it! This was a shocking revelation for me. I am a very girly-girl and usually never shy away from standard polish shades. I have to tell you, the thought of painting my nails such a bold..ok so it really is a muted…color, was liberating!

I thought I would need a deep tan in order to pull this color off, but even after weeks of going without using my fave self tanner (Loreal Sublime Bronze)..the color looked good on me!

I have yet to see anyone in the Lexington area with greige nails or toenails. Have you? Have you tried it? Will you try the color? I would love to hear from you!

Most of us have spots on our skin we wish we could cover up like moles, acne, and under-eye circles. Regular concealer usually won’t do the trick..but there is a product that does!

It’s called Smart Cover. I like to think of Smart Cover as a heavy-duty concealer that can be used for the face and body.

Smart Cover comes in a concealing cream and a cover stick.  You can choose the color of the cream to match your skin tone and the cover stick comes in a neutral color.

I was anxious to try Smart Cover after looking at some of the before and after pics on their site.

Smart Cover provides enough coverage to even cover large tattoos! I gave it a try on some moles on my arm. I put on two applications and waited five minutes for it to dry before putting on my shirt. Smart Cover made my arms look mole-free which I found really amazing!

You can buy Smart Cover in a kit of different products or you can buy items like Perfect Touch and Anti-Aging Pick-Up Sticks individually.

You can wash off Smart Cover with soap and water but an easier way is to use Smart Cover Cleanser which you can also buy here.

I have a confession to make..I’m a chocoholic. I seriously can’t make it through a day without getting a chocolate fix. So, when I heard about QBel All Natural Candy Bars I knew I MUST try them.
