Action News 36 is following the case of a Lexington landlord accused of harboring illegal immigrants and encouraging them to stay in the U.S.

It's a case that could have widespread impact.

Jerry Hadden is accused of harboring 60 illegal immigrants by letting them live in his two apartment complexes.

In the second day of testimony, prosecution called an illegal immigrant who told the jury how he rented one of these apartments Hadden owns  while in the U.S. illegally.

The renter, who signed a one year lease, said he never told Haddon he was here illegal and he did not know Hadden before he came to America.

He also testified he paid his rent with a money order and he had jobs here and came and went has he pleased.

The defense asked the renter if Hadden ever ask him to hide because immigration was watching, the witness said "no."

The witness also told jurors he had gas, water and electric in his name. All of which require a valid ID.

A state police detective also testified Tuesday, green cards and social security cards are easy to get for $50 to $200 and a regular person would not be able to tell they were fake.
