The number of prescription drug sales is up in almost every county in the state. A new report from the State Justice and Public Safety Cabinet says prescriptions for controlled substances are up in all but two of Kentucky’s 120 counties between 2005 and 2007. According to the report, five counties, Bell, Clinton, Magoffin, Owsley and Whitley have all averaged more than four prescriptions for controlled substances per resident. Officials with the office of drug control policy say there is concern because the more prescription drugs dispensed, the greater the chances are for abuse. Trackback ( 0 )
