Shots Fired into Lexington Home Overnight

Lexington Police are busy looking for a man who forced his way inside a house were a women was living alone, which ended with several shots being fired at her. The situation unfolded on Centre Parkway near Bold Bidder Drive.

Action news 36's Tony Hensley spoke exclusively to the victim about her frightening encounter.

The scary situation began around one in a second floor apartment. The victim didn't want to give her name or talk to us on camera out of fear the suspect may come back. But, here's what she told Action News 36. She says a man who she does not know, but admitted she has seen him dozens of times in the neighborhood knocked on her door and asked for a young lady who did not live at that apartment.

She says when he told the suspect that she didn't live there, he didn't believe her and began trying to force his way into the apartment.

The home owner tried to close the door on him but pushed her back and began yelling for the young lady. She says that's when she went into a back bedroom and grab her phone and dialed 9-1-1. The victim says when the suspect realized she was on the phone with police he began walking out of her apartment. She says when he got to the door she gave him a shove and slammed the door behind him.

As she was locking the door, she says the suspect fired three to four shots into the door even kicking the door trying to get back in. K-9 units and the police helicopter searched the area for nearly two hours but no arrests were ever made. The good news, the women was not hurt during the shooting.
