Project director Berry McNeese says he is confident the distillery project will bring more jobs and more places for arts and entertainment. The council approved two portions of the distillery district project at a total of $2.1-million. The council also approve $12.7-million to improve three major portions of downtown. Part of the renovations will go to ADA compliant intersections, and improved sidewalks. Construction on West and East Main Street, Vine Street, and Cheapside is also expected to begin soon. Don’t fear too many traffic jams. Authorities say construction will only take place between 9am-3pm. The downtown streetscape projects are expected to be complete in July 2010, before the World Equestrian Games. Trackback ( 0 )
