"We expect a capacity crowd. We're going to have to mindful of how many people get in the building because 8-thousand is capacity," explains Beth Osborne, director of the UK Ticket Office. The lottery will be for the last three games against Tennessee, South Carolina and Florida. UK Police will have extra security to help patrol the crowd for the lottery, as well as prevent brokers from soliciting students for their tickets and UK is warning students not to buy tickets from anyone but UK or Ticketmaster. "The past several games we've had tickets showing up that were issued to a student that we're supposed to be a student id required and someone has taken white out and covered up the part that says student id required. If they're altered in anyway like that they're invalid," says Osborne. UK has been getting many calls from people worried they've bought fake tickets."We're getting calls from people saying I bought them on the secondary market, how do I know if they're valid? Unfortunately, they're not going to know if they're valid until they get to the game and we scan them. If they're invalid, they're not getting in and it's a soldout game," comments Osborne. And UK's Police Chief is going to talk to students at the lottery about those invalid tickets. " We don't know who's posting those but we do know that the tickets were originally sold to a student but we have no way of knowing if a student is posting those," says Osborne. But some Solid Blue Fans are still going take their chances buying tickets online. "I don't bother with them anymore. After seeing all the lines that happen, I'd rather get them on E-bay or something like that instead of waiting in line," explains UK sophomore Chase Greene. Others are debating whether or not it's worth the wait. "I mean it's fun but it's a long wait. I want to go because I want tickets but i'm not sure if I want to wait that long, but we'll see," says UK sophomore Maggie Alexander. UK will start handing out lottery tickets at 8 P.M. Students can start lining up at 6 P.M. Trackback ( 0 )
