KACO Tightens Belt
Thursday, 01 October 2009 15:40
altThe Kentucky Association of Counties revealed 18 new reform policies after a series of Herald-Leader stories spotlighted extravagant spending.  Expensive hotel rooms, trips to strip clubs, and gifts were purchased.

Among the new reforms:  limits on meal spending, a $100 limit on gifts, and a ban on personal spending with credit cards.

The reforms are based on recommendations made by state auditor Crit Luallen.
