Where's Tom Kenny?

We've gotten phone calls, emails, and stopped at the grocery store with this very question.  We appreciate your patience and concern.

Tom Kenny has been on medical leave since mid-June. Tom had knee surgery several weeks ago.  Unfortunately he had some complications, and had to spend some time in the hospital, but now he is recovering at home.  We check in with Tom frequently, and we know he misses being here with us and all of you.

Many of you have called or e-mailed wanting to know when Tom will be back on the air. We thank you for your concern and we're letting him know he is missed.  Right now we're still waiting for Tom to fully heal and get back to full strength.  We hope to welcome him back to work soon.

Feel free to add your get well wishes in the comment section of this story.  We'll make sure Tom knows you miss him.

While flipping through channels last evening for the 11 PM news I saw Tom Kenny and suddenly knew that was the news report I wanted to watch. It was such a joy to see Tom doing the news and he did a wonderful job last evening. I will be looking forward to seeing him each night at 11. Tom, I trust you are healing completely and will very soon be back to your post. May the Lord Bless and Keep you in His tender loving care.

I am so glad that Tom is back. I only wish he were back on the morning show, as he was a good reason to get up at 5AM. I love your sense of humor Tom. Kristi and Mary did a great job, but without you, the show is really lacking. I have seen you on the noon news, but 30 min. is not enough. Stay well, God Bless you!

Thanks Kristi for forwarding my blog onto Tom. He emailed me and I was so excited to get an answer from him! But I really hate to hear all that he has been through. I am a Christian, and I will be praying for his full recovery. Hope to see you soon, Tom, once again on Good Morning Kentucky. It's not the same without you.

Get well soon,
Sheri

Hi Tom,
My schedule has changed and I haven't watched the news lately but when I did, I noticed you were absent. I hope this finds you recovering and on your way back to being well. It's always good to let people know that their presence is missed.

I just moved here in August 2007. I started watching channel 36 news every morning and I really liked the personalities of Tom, Christy and Mary. Then all of a sudden Tom just.....disappeared! I know you have said he has had knee surgery and he will return. But, is he really ok? And please tell on the 5:00 a.m. news when he thinks he will be back. This is freaking me out in a way. I guess you just get used to certain people, and those three were part of my morning routine. Email me, something to give a more detailed answer about "Tom" the missing anchor man.
Very concerned,
One of Tom's fans

WELCOME BACK TOM, you've been missed. I'm happy you've recovered from your scarey ordeal and could return work. So glad to see you in commercials and newscasts once again. I hope you won't suffer any permanent damage from the infection.

We miss Tom Kenny's witty humor with Mary, and Christy! Is Tom coming back to morning news? Is he okay? I love the 36 morning news crew at 05:00 a.m. I just don't know how much more of Chris Deitz I can take. The pirate terminology explanations on Friday morning almost made us turn off the break room tv. We need Tom Kenny to get well and get his goofy news back on the air! WE NEED YOU BACK TOM!!!!!! Get well soon!!

Hey Tom,
Hope you are much better and we think you should be the evening ANCHORMAN on the evening news. ASAP!!!!!!!!! You are a better announcer than anyone WTVQ, LEX 18 or cbs has ever had. GOOD LUCK!! Push for #1 Spot; you are worthy of it and have earned it no question about it.

Tom - Sorry to hear you had complications with your knee surgery. Wish I had known you were going to go under the knife for knee surgery - the best orthepedic surgeon in Lex is Dr. Parr. You would never have gotten any complications from his surgery. I know from personal experience. What has happened to our car #24? This is not like Jeff. Nascar is becoming boring with Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards every week - maybe it's because they are 2 of my least favorite. If Jeff, Jimmie or Dale can't win - I'm not a happy camper.
Hope you're back on the air soon - best of luck in a full recovery.
